Tax Calculations - Part 1 of 3

  1. Learn how to calculate tax manually, even if using a payroll software system, so that you can cross check system calculations. Output from electronic systems is only as good as the information placed into them!
  2. Always get someone else to check your payroll input and output, and to sign off on these.
  3. Plan your payroll month, making sure that mini-deadlines are adhered to by all concerned so that the final employee payment date can be met with minimum stress.
